For once this isn’t the issue.
Since I’m the go to tech guy for everyone I know, I often get greeted with stuff like “Come help my phone won’t stay charged” and usually it’s the fact they have their brightness on 100% and all notifications on.
This time the battery usage showed that Facebook had used 30% of the battery over the last 7 days except they won’t get rid of it. I tried using CoconutBattery to check how it was doing, but that didn’t work because I don’t have iTunes on my macbook so the phone wasn’t recognized. Aside from FaceBook being Facebook, what else could cause battery life to be about 2-3 hours on a reasonably new phone. As far as I’ve heard, the 6s isn’t their best product but battery life has apparently dropped significantly over the last 3 days.
Phone is a 6S (I think) running some variant of IOS 10 (or are we at IOS 10S Plus yet?)

I’ve heard people who have fitbits and apple watches have noticed a significant decrease in battery

When they got their Fitbit, battery life was normal, but it’s gotten worse in a short amount of time. I’ll have to check that though. Thanks.

The 6S does have a known battery problem: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2016/12/software-fixes-in-the-works-for-iphone-6s-battery-and-shutdown-problems/
Symptoms don’t really sound like what you are describing, but there are lots of people complaining about 6S battery life in the comments of that article.

I’ll have to look at the date on the phone then and see what version of IOS 10 it’s on.

Is wifi and bluetooth on? That’ll drain a phone pretty quickly

I have a Fitbit. If they have all day sync turned on, their phone is syncing via Bluetooth with the Fitbit constantly so I’d bet that’s a battery killer right there.

Yes, but I’m not allowed to turn that off.

Put in the serial number and Apple will let you know if it is eligible. Basically it is the first sold phones, so if it was purchased new during the first couple months after release it is probably eligible.
